Wedding days are stressful – you don’t need us to tell you that! – but luckily there are many ways to surprise your new spouse and help ease some of that nervousness and add even more sweetness to the day. Check out our ideas for 5 ways to surprise your partner on your wedding day!

1. Write a note!

Writing and receiving a love letter is a common wedding morning tradition, especially if you’ve decided to skip a first look. Leaving a note, a love note journal, or even a simple sticky note for your partner to find is a romantic gesture to show them how much you can’t wait to marry them!

Another fun idea? Leave the note in your partner’s pocket, and have a member of their wedding party tell them to check their pockets later in the day.

2. Bring your pet for a visit!

If the two of you have a pet, a visit from your fur baby on the wedding day can be a great stress relief and fun surprise! BRIK is pet-friendly, and we love to see our couples get photos with their four-legged friends while in their wedding day best! One of our brides even took bridal portraits with her cat.

3. Give them a gift during your first look!

A wedding day gift is a sweet way to pamper your partner and give them a gift that will always make them think of your wedding day. You can also leave it in their dressing suite for them to find, or have a member of your wedding party deliver it to them.

4. Perform a choreographed dance!

During your dance with your parent or even during the garter/bouquet toss, surprise your new spouse with a choreographed dance. Your guests will love it, too!

5. Sweet snacks!

Show your partner how much you love them – and how well you know them! – by phoning in their favorite treat to arrive during the reception. We’ve seen our couples surprised by pizza, Whataburger, In-N-Out, and late night snack food trucks!

Also doable on a smaller scale: Have custom cookies made of their favorite movie, tv show, or video game and have them displayed at the reception!
