You know that photos are one of the most important aspects of your wedding day, but what does a typical wedding day photo timeline look like? While no two BRIK weddings are the same, this general guide should help you get an idea of what to expect on your wedding day!

Come with us as we go through an example photo timeline on a BRIK wedding day! All photos in today’s blog are from Alexis & Adam’s BRIK wedding on 8/13/22, shot by Bow Tie Media.

— Morning —

It’s All in the Details

In the morning, your photographer will take “flat lays” – detail shots of all the little things going into your wedding day style. This can include your bouquet, jewelry & rings, shoes, veil, programs, garter, family heirlooms, and whatever else you can imagine.

BRIK TIP: Remember to bring one of your save the dates, invitations, and envelopes if you’d like your stationary included in the flat lays.

The Suite Life

In the dressing suites – especially our gorgeous bridal suite! – be sure to snag getting-ready pics with your wedding party. Don’t forget to get photos of your friends and family members helping you with your dress, shoes, suit, boutonnière, and accessories. We all get by with a little help from our friends, after all!

First Looks

Doing a first look in the morning can help you get the majority of your wedding party and couple photos before the ceremony even starts, meaning you’ll have more time to enjoy cocktail hour and reception!

If you decide to do a first look down the aisle, all wedding party and couple photos are taken immediately following the ceremony and family photos.

Still not sure about a first look? Check out our First Look Guide.

– Afternoon –

The BRIK Graffiti Patio

Our graffiti patio, created by a local Fort Worth artist, is a great place for group shots, first looks, and couple pictures. There are three different backdrops to choose from, each of them bringing the perfect urban industrial vibe to your photos.

The Iconic BRIK Ivy Wall

No BRIK wedding gallery is complete without ivy wall pics! It’s beautiful all year ’round – check out our blog post about the ivy wall through the seasons!

Getting the Party Started

Next, you’ll take your group photos with your wedding party. This includes you and your partner with your individual parties, then all together! Make them as fun or as formal as you’d like – your wedding day should be a reflection of you!

— Evening —

Detail Shots (Part 2) & Room Shots

At this time, the wedding party is tucked away into your suites, and your guests will begin to arrive. Your photographer will take detail and room shots before the ceremony, making sure to capture your wedding reception design without guests and preserving all the beautiful details you planned!

Here Comes the Bride!

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for! It’s time to get y’all married!

Cocktail Hour & Family Pics

Immediately following the ceremony, your guests will be dismissed to cocktail hour. Your family members will be asked to stay so you can take group photos. If you didn’t do a first look, you will take your couple and wedding party photos during cocktail hour.

Grand Entrance & First Dance

Most BRIK couples have their grand entrance flow directly into their first dance. After the first dance there is usually a welcome speech (by the couple or a family member) and dinner begins.

#RooftopMagic!

Rooftop pics are a BRIK wedding day essential! Around sunset, find your venue liaison and she’ll help you up onto the roof. You definitely don’t want to miss out on BRIK’s #rooftopmagic.

Before or after rooftop pics, depending on your wedding day timeline, will be dinnertime, parent dances, and speeches.

It’s a Piece of Cake

Around the end of dinner, it’s cake cutting time! This can be announced to the room, or can just be the two of you and your photographer. Some of our couples have even had a private cake-cutting in one of the suites.

Shake It!

It’s party time, baby! Your photographer will be taking allll the dancing pics, so get your boogie shoes on and have a great time! Don’t forget to take some pictures with your neon, too!

Save the Last Dance For Me

The party’s over, and it’s honeymoon time. As your guests make their way outside for your grand exit, a sweetheart dance is a great way to end the night. Just the two of you and a special song.

Closing Time

Time to wave goodbye to your adoring fans! Change into your exit outfit (if you haven’t already) and strut your stuff down the BRIK courtyard to your getaway car!
