Give us all the SHOES!

When it comes to wedding shoes, we know that brides and grooms choose style and color over everything else.  Every couple has their own unique style when it comes to what they wear on their BIG DAY, and shoes are no exception!  From glamorous to comfortable to colorful to blinged out, shoes show off the personality of each couple. Our brides tend to go for fancy and fun, while our grooms tend to go for comfort and style. Either way, shoes are a huge part of any wedding, and our BRIK couples have had some amazing ones!

Check out the pictures below of some of our favorites, and maybe it will give you some inspiration for what to wear on your BIG DAY!

Mary & Matt 3.16.18 | Sweet Spring Wedding | Fort Worth, TX | BRIK Venue

BRIK wedding, spring wedding, sweet wedding, Fort Worth wedding, photo bus, rooftop, sparkler exit

What a sweet wedding Mary and Matt had back in March! The bride and groom made sure all the details of their sweet spring wedding were exactly what they envisioned.

Shelley Foster Photography captured all the sweet moments throughout the day, from the bride and groom getting ready, to the details of the cake and invitation suite, to the first dance as husband and wife, to the grand sparkler exit at the end of the night.  Something Borrowed Blooms added their sweet touch to the florals and bridal bouquet.

The bride’s gown from A and Be Bridal was just perfect for her wedding day!  Millionaire Brides Club did a beautiful job with hair and makeup! The bridesmaids all wore shades of blue, while the groom and his groomsmen sported gray suits and white ties.

The Photo Bus DFW was parked outside for guests to take pictures, and in the courtyard fire pits kept everyone warm on a chilly spring night.

Guests dined on food from DeVito Brothers and a very sweet dessert bar.  Tunes from I Play, U Dance kept everyone on the dance floor during the reception.   Mary and Matt left under a sea of sparklers in the courtyard!  What a fun way to walk into married life together!

Check out pictures from their sweet spring wedding!

Getaway Cars | BRIK Question of the Month

BRIK venue, getaway car, sendoff, vintage, BRIK wedding
Lightly Photography

When it comes to your grand exit, a getaway car must show your personality as a couple!  We get asked often what are some of the unique ways that the bride and groom have ridden off into married life after the party is over.  Below are some of the cars, vintage and modern, that our couples have chosen to ride off into the sunset together as husband and wife!

VINTAGE WHITE CARS

Awesome and classy, the white vintage car is always a good idea!

HORSE AND CARRIAGE

A horse and carriage is always a fun ride!  These couples chose this fun idea over a car, and just look at these photos!

OTHER UNIQUE OPTIONS

Quite a few of our couples have chosen to use an Uber or Lyft while others have used their own car or a friend’s car.  A limo is always a good option! One couple chose to ride off on their bikes! And then there’s always one or two who pull out all the stops and use an old vintage firetruck!

Natalie & Stephen 2.11.18 | Food Trucks & Fun Wedding | Fort Worth, TX | BRIK Weddings

winter wedding, Brik wedding, food trucks, February wedding, bridal party, bride and groom

Family, fun and food trucks was the theme of Natalie and Stephen’s February wedding! No detail was left undone as they celebrated in front of friends and family the entire night! Brooke with Each & Every Detail made sure all the fun little details were just perfect for their day!

The bride and her bridesmaids had so much fun getting ready in the bridal suite, having their hair and make-up done by the bride’s aunt and a bridesmaid.  While they were getting ready upstairs, the groom and his groomsmen were having a blast getting ready downstairs in the groom’s room – tying those bow ties proved to be harder than they thought!

The beautiful florals by Kate Foley Designs added to the feeling of fun as the bouquets were filled with gorgeous red, pink and white flowers.  And the florals at the altar made for a whimsical ceremony space, where the bride and groom said “I Do” under a cascade of ribbons and flowers.  The tables in the reception were absolutely stunning, with candles provided by Eleven Embers and linens by BBJ Linens.

We absolutely loved that Natalie and Stephen brought in fun food trucks for their reception! In the courtyard, guests were able to choose between Bite My Biscuit, TX Burrito Co., and Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe. What fun! HD Liquid Catering provided a fun experience at the bar, and the sounds of LeForce Entertainment kept everyone on the dance floor the entire evening!

After celebrating with friends and family, the new Mr. and Mrs. left through a sea of glow sticks, which added a fun element to the end of their big day!

Chevron Wood Wall | Inspired By BRIK

Chevron Wall, BRIK Weddings, DFW Weddings, Inspired By, Cake, Photo Booth

One of the most popular spots at BRIK is our unique chevron wood wall!  Everyone wants it to be a focal point!  It’s been used so many different ways!

Put our 11 foot bar in front of it and you’ve got a super cool cocktail hour or a fun coffee bar. Put your cake in front of it and just swoon over the photos of that chevron wall in the background.  If your guest count is around 100, you can use the chevron wall as an altar area for your ceremony.

And if you’re feeling like a photo booth area is your thing, we’ve even had people use the chevron wall as a photo backdrop. One of the most unique ways to use the chevron wall is to set up a lounge area in front of it, where guests can sit and mingle and enjoy a cocktail, a piece of cake, a good conversation, and a fun picture!

Check out the pictures below for some of these unique ways our BRIK Brides have used this chevron wall for their BIG DAY!

Mary & Bryan 3.31.18 | Puppy Love Spring Wedding | Fort Worth, TX | BRIK Weddings

BRIK bride, Fort Worth wedding, puppy love, spring wedding, DFW wedding, floral arch

When Mary and Bryan were planning their wedding, they knew that their sweet puppy just had to be involved somehow!  Planners Chloe and Kerrie from A Stylish Soiree made sure every detail was perfect, including the inclusion of the couple’s puppy.

A Stylish Soiree created the GORGEOUS florals for this puppy love-filled day, and the floral arch at the end of the aisle was absolutely stunning! The bride and groom looked so in love as they kissed for the first time as husband and wife, and even more in love as they posed for pictures with their puppy!

Dinner was served by Campisi’s and the beautiful cakes were made by Sugarbee Sweets.  Every little detail was just perfect! After being announced husband and wife, the couple just had to take a picture with their cute little puppy!

Mary and Bryan will live this day over and over every time they watch their wedding video by Take 4 Films (and I’m pretty sure the puppy will watch with them)! Guests danced the night away to the sounds of In10city Band and sent the happy couple off in a grand sparkler exit!

Vendor Shout Out | Lauren Morgan Floral Design | DFW Weddings

brik wedding, industrial wedding, floral designer, flowers, texas wedding, wedding

Lauren Morgan Floral Design is our BRIK Vendor Shout Out for July! We absolutely love working with Lauren to make our clients dream floral decor come to life! She is so creative, fun, and really cares about her clients to make sure they get exactly what they want when it comes to their florals!

We have had the pleasure of working with Lauren on several weddings here at BRIK and we can’t wait to have her back! If you’re looking for a florist for your big day, we highly recommend Lauren Morgan Floral Designs!

We asked Lauren a few questions about what she loves about floral design and creating some of the beautiful pieces for our #BRIKbrides!

Tell us a little about how you got started in this industry.

Kind of a funny story, when I was a freshman in high school I was assigned to a floral design class as an art elective. I had initially signed up for an improv class, so I switched shortly after (I grew up in Seattle, they had way better choices for art classes). But that accidental floral class definitely planted a seed in me. I fumbled around different art forms after high school. I pursued theater, worked as a makeup artist for a long time, and was even in a punk rock marching band for a bit. Nothing felt right, nor did I feel like any of these platforms were something I could pursue long term, and in my mind I kept coming back to that accidental floral class. So, 6 years ago, I got a job as a floral sales consultant and the rest is history!  Everything really does happen for a reason.

brik wedding, industrial wedding, spring wedding, boho wedding, march weddingAshley Rhian Photography

How would you describe your style of floral design?

I would say my style is “Romantic and Rebellious” I stray away from anything too tight or traditional. I love texture and the unexpected. Whether it be a bold contrasting color, or a cool funky bloom. I just love the way it looks intermixed with classic, romantic stems. Sometimes when I get an order in, I have this moment where I say, ‘What was I thinking?’  But then I start designing and its like, ‘DUH, This is rad, you knew what you were doing all along.’

brik wedding, industrial wedding, summer wedding, boho wedding, july weddingCharlotte Exton Photography

What makes you passionate about flowers?

How much time do you have? I think the most amazing thing to me, is the way every bloom is unique and special in its own way. When I am designing, I spend a little time with every stem, and nature still surprises me. The way a peony will fade into the perfect shade, how roses open, or even how the smell of a certain bloom will take me back to so many different memories. Not to mention the endless amount of flower varieties out there. You are never done learning in this industry and I love that. It keeps me hungry.

brik wedding, industrial wedding, summer wedding, boho wedding, july weddingCharlotte Exton Photography

What would you say sets you a part from other florists?

I definitely pride myself in the connections I make with my clients. I try to create a unique bond and really get a feel for who they are as a couple, so that I can take their vision and really bring it to life. For me it’s all about creating THEIR space, and making a beautiful memory for them and their loved ones to hold on to forever.

brik wedding, industrial wedding, summer wedding, texas wedding, may weddingLightly Photography

Describe your ideal Client.

Collaboration is my favorite word. I LOVE working with a couple and creating something totally new together. It’s all about creating a story specific to you. Relationships are definitely built throughout the floral planning process. I love when we can bounce ideas off of each other and really come up with something unique. It makes the floral and decor such a huge expression of who they are.

brik wedding, industrial wedding, summer wedding, texas wedding, may weddingLightly Photography

What is your favorite part about working a wedding at BRIK?

I love that Brik is such a beautiful blank canvas. I have done 3 weddings there already, and have more in the fall, all SOOOO different from each other. There is so much room for creativity and I love that I can approach the space in a different way each time. There is no pressure to over do it, because the venue is so beautiful on its own, even minimal designs are stunning and make a huge statement. The possibilities there are endless.

brik wedding, industrial wedding, spring wedding, boho wedding, march weddingAshley Rhian Photography

Do you have a favorite memory of a BRIK couple’s wedding?

Absolutely. I got to attend the wedding of Olivia & Barish (see photo below) and got to fully immerse myself in the wedding. Seeing my florals in the setting I intended them for was so, so special to me. I was weeping like a baby during the ceremony. Creating a romantic space for people to vow themselves to each other in is my favorite part of every wedding I do. So intimate and emotional, I always feel so honored to be apart of it.

brik wedding, industrial wedding, summer wedding, texas wedding, july weddingCharlotte Exton Photography

What do brides/grooms need to know when choosing the right florist for their wedding?

I think style and vision compatibility is key. While we are all trained and capable of executing all styles, we are also all artists, and just like artists we all specialize in a certain genre of floral design. Find a florist that vibes with you, and you can build off of each other to create something magical and bespoke to you.

brik wedding, industrial wedding, spring wedding, boho wedding, march weddingAshley Rhian Photography

What do you wish brides/grooms knew about floral decor?

Part of what makes flowers so amazing to me is not one is alike. It has a raw and unpredictable nature; and for that reason, you can never get a true copy of something else. I can create a design, inspired and cohesive to another, but you can never really mimic a design exactly, I think there is something really beautiful about that. Keep it OG, y’all!

Also, SPLURGE ON YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER! It’s the only thing you have forever and it makes all the difference. You can spend all your money on flowers and still have poor quality flower photos, but a good photographer can make any florals look good.

Thanks You, Lauren!! We can’t wait to work with you again soon!

Sydney & Trent 2.17.18 | Romantic Winter Wedding | Fort Worth, TX | BRIK Weddings

BRIK wedBRIK wedding, Fort Worth wedding, Winter wedding, Burgundy wedding, Texas wedding, Romantic Weddingding, Fort Worth wedding, Winter wedding, Burgundy wedding, Texas wedding

We are feeling all the romantic feels today as we celebrate Sydney and Trent’s wedding today!  On a chilly day in February, these lovebirds said “I do” in front of their friends and family in a romantic ceremony at Brik Venue. Jessica with J. Martin Events made sure that all the romantic touches added to the personal feel of the day! Photographer Angela Fleming with New Seasons Photography captured all the fun that Sydney and Trent brought to their ceremony and reception. The couple will have an amazing video of their romantic day, thanks to Jorge Nunez of Forty Seven Studios.

The bride and her bridesmaids were pampered with hair and makeup by Courtney Long with Chi Ro Weddings. Sydney looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress from Bliss Bridal!  Our favorite part of the day happened when Trent saw Sydney for the first time in her dress – his happy tears made us all tear up!

Colorful florals created by Platinum Petals Floral brought the tables to life, and the bouquets and boutonnieres were just as gorgeous! The bride walked down the aisle to and altar of beautiful candelabras filled with greenery, where her groom was waiting for her in his burgundy bow tie. Guests dined on delicious food from Blue Mesa.  The cakes were made by Cakes by Kathleen, who also kept the romantic feel in the details of each cake.  The TCU cake was a nice touch for the groom!

As the night progressed, the bride and groom escaped for a little romantic photo shoot on the roof – those downtown views are incredible at sunset! The new Mr. and Mrs. and their guests danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Cale – their private last dance was the most romantic of all last dances! A grand exit through a sea of sparklers made a beautiful ending for such a romantic day!

Brik Venue, Summer Wedding, July Wedding, Texas Wedding, Industrial Wedding

Congratulations to all of our July 2017 Couples who are celebrating their First Anniversaries this month!! We had so many beautiful weddings last summer, it was hard to pick just one photo from each of them! These couples all braved the Texas Summer Heat to get married last July and we’re so happy for all of them!

Below are photos from some of our July 2017 Weddings last Summer! Congrats again to all of our #BRIKbrides and #BRIKbeaus! We wish you all the best going into your second year of marriage!
